Testing solution for Posterous missing autopost services

I want my Posterous posts to archive to Evernote and previously have been using FeedMyInbox. I just had a brainwave...why not add services that allow email posting as subscribers. So I have subscribed my Evernote account and will see how it works.

Birth is beautiful

Lovely birth last night for a first time mum. Her family were so loving and supportive and fun. She pushed past the fear and birthed her baby into her mother's hands. Wee baby girl had her cord cut by her father and then nestled skin-to-skin with her mum. Beautiful!

I <3 gadgets

I have a new Acer Iconia tablet which is Android powered. I have a portable hard drive formatted with FAT32 and chucked some movies on it and they play fabulously. I can plug in a USB keyboard. I am having so much fun with it. It won't play the MMORPG I enjoy but I had been doing less gaming anyway. Also photo editing and the like are best done on my desktop. My desktop has been playing up and this is a very useful option in work settings and at home. Maybe I can upgrade my phone to Gingerbread and keep it to basic applications...

Crazy week

The children lost their great grandfather this week after a long illness. I have tonsillitis even though my tonsils were removed. Bryce had his car broken into. My baby sister and her husband are moving further away and I will miss Hayley heaps. My car's alternator belt decided not to make the whole trip home.

Argh!

Backupify keeps changing the rules ( @backupify )

Lifehacker suggested Backupify would be a good option for backing up online data with Backupify offering a free and unlimited account: http://lifehacker.com/5432282/backupify-cloud-backup-free-until-january-31-st...

They gleaned the information from ZDNet: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/backupify-drops-paywall-backs-up-your-data-from...

Backupify even link to these sites promoting their offer: https://app.backupify.com/press

Wow! I signed up and my registration was confirmed on 23 December 2009.

In March 2010 I had issues with a WordPress site and Backupify came to the rescue. I was offered an account upgrade for the use of my testimonial on the Backupify site:

Me: I had reseller hosting with ******* but the sites disappeared without any word from the company and 6 days of no response to my support tickets. Hence, I changed hosting company and moved the site. Thank goodness for the one WordPress backup I had and I will very soon be setting up backups on my other WordPress installs. It saved me so much time!!

Rob May: Hi Vanessa,
We are launching premium accounts in a few weeks.  Can we upgrade you for free when we do in return for adding your response below to our website in the testimonials section?  We would cross out ******* so as not to generate any negative press.

Me: I would be thrilled to have my testimonial listed. I don't know how the premium accounts differ from the unlimited accounts that were enabled for the early adopters, but that sounds very kind of you.

In May Backupify put the paywall back up and revised the unlimited free forever accounts: http://blog.backupify.com/2010/04/15/paywall-going-back-up-new-premium-packag...

Then in July my account was "upgraded" again to their Business plan after Backupify ran a referral promotion.

Your account has been upgraded to Backupify Business (25GB Storage, Weekly Zip Archives, Unlimited Social Media Account) - Valid until 2011-Jul-18

Where did that time limit come from? I might accept a 25GB limit, but does the expiry mean that I would be charged from 18 July 2011?

I wish Backupify was safe to set and forget. I was just checking up on my accounts today and Backupify are transitioning to a new platform. It looks like I would be on a new Basic plan which allows 5GB storage and 10 accounts.

This is ridiculous! If Backupify can't honour their original offer...then where will it stop? I was thankful for Backupify and want it to be something I can rely on but they keep changing the rules. Surely Backupify could email customers when they make policy changes that affect customer accounts and how about free and unlimited forever?

SugarSync

I am liking how SugarSync will work with my Android phone and different workplaces. Sorry...but I think SugarSync beats Dropbox for me. With 5GB free storage, what a great way to sync! Get yours here: https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=dxk3ypcymeqq2 and I get some bonus space too  =)
