Sad news

I am devastated to hear that Uncle Peter died on Thursday. Kylie found out from family wall posts on Facebook and let Julian, Hayley and I know. Uncle Peter reminded me most of Dad in looks and temperament and his sporting interests. My love and thoughts are with Aunty Lorraine and Andrew, Dean and Sharee and their families.

Screen Saver To Do List

Words Screen Saver (471 k) Version 1.32
A Windows screen saver for displaying short passages of text like jokes, poems or single words with various effects. Contents and appearance can be modified to your own liking. Comes with English and German text files containing jokes, quotations, word lists and short poems. For Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Very easy installation and un-installation.

I saw a tip on Lifehacker on using GTD in PowerPoint and making into a screensaver. Did a search online and found this software that uses a text file to make a screen saver and saved the screensaver.txt file in Dropbox. Now I have a GTD screen saver that I can edit anywhere. If I was at work and my computer was not in use...I could even add a message to my family at home.

A dream

I had a dream about Marianne, Caroline, Craig, Mark, Grant, Dean and Tim. It reminded me how important that chapter of my life was and how much I miss all of them, not just who I dreamed about.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops Out

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops Out

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutIf your eyeball pops out, don't shove it back in, says CNN's popular new article "What to Do When Body Parts Fall Off." It's the Things Fall Apart of health articles. Let's enhance it with a DO and DON'T guide.

When Your Eyeball Pops Out...

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO run around screaming. You might not be able to see the phone to dial 911 by yourself, so you'll want to alert others to the fact that your eyeball just popped out of her head.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDON'T try to shove it back in. If you push the wrong part, you'll make it worse. Plus, sometimes cool stuff happens—like your eyelid flipping back behind your cornea!—and you'll want to traumatize everyone around you by forcing them to stare it for as long as possible.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops Out DON'T worry about it falling and rolling away. It probably won't even dangle! (Much.) The optic nerve will keep it in or near your eye socket.

When You Chop Your Finger Off...

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO rinse it off with cold water. Even disembodied hands need to be washed!

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDON'T put it directly on ice. It will get an ice burn, and you won't even notice because its nerve endings aren't connected to your brain, anymore.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO wrap it in a damp cloth, seal it in a ziploc baggie, and then put that baggie inside another baggie filled with ice cold water.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDON'T let anyone carry the finger to the hospital for you. Apparently husbands lose the finger or get stuck at a red light in their cars all the time, and then they have not only lost their loved ones' fingers, but destroyed their marriages, too.

When You Knock a Tooth Out...

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO thank your lucky stars it wasn't a popped-out eyeball or chopped-off finger. Seriously, did you read the other two sections? Your problems are nothing.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO rinse it off with milk or water. If there is no milk or water available, lick and suck on it. I know that sounds weird, but it's going back in your mouth eventually, anyway.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDON'T suck too vigorously, in case you swallow.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO shove your knocked-out tooth back in the socket, so the squishy wet part is back in the gums where it belongs. If you can't get it back in, or are too freaked out, hold it between your cheek and gums. Remember: No swallowing.

The Definitive Guide to What to Do If Your Eyeball Pops OutDO go to the dentist, now. When I first read this part I thought it was telling me I could just shove my teeth back in and they would be fine. In fact, you still need someone to sew you back together. [CNN, image via Shutterstock]
